The Southland Tournament will head into the championship game at the Legacy Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana featuring a matchup between No. 3-seeded Nicholls and No. 1-seeded McNeese battling it out for a chance at an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Colonels finished their season with a 20-13 record overall and a 13-5 record against Southland teams. They entered the tournament in the second round where they took down Texas A&M-Commerce by 21 points on the back of 18 points from Robert Brown III to lead the team. In the semifinals they took on the No. 2 seed in the conference, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and came out on top 81-73 in overtime last night. Michael Gray Jr. had 23 points to lead the team to the championship game.

The Cowboys finished the season with a 29-3 record and a 17-1 record against conference teams. They entered the tournament Tuesday in the semifinals featuring a matchup with No. 4-seeded Lamara, where they won handily 76-57.
Shahada Wells led the team, dropping 27 points in a massive performance. He also had five assists to lead the team in that game. Javohn Garcia had 12 points which was just over his season average with four rebounds and two assists.
